    Bio

As a trusted technology partner to 138 public institutions across Italy, CSI delivers cutting-edge infrastructure, networks, and services. Our stakeholders benefit from a National Cybersecurity Agency-certified cloud, a regional connectivity network, a distributed data center, ICT service governance, and expert consulting.

CSI manages most of the databases for the Piedmont Public Administration and provides 1,239 application services, many accessible online. Additionally, we oversee around 20,000 workstations for our organization and consortium members.

Innovation is at the core of our mission. We drive digital transformation through advanced technologies, research, and experimental projects, leveraging AI to create smarter, more efficient interactions between people and public administrations.

For security incident and event management, CSI relies on the central SIEM RSA, a critical tool for information exchange. The team behind SAFE4SOC operates the CSI Security Operations Center, supporting the Piedmont Public Administration and beyond. CSI is also a board member of CLUSIT, Italy’s leading IT security association, and has extensive international cooperation experience, having implemented over 110 international projects since 2015, spanning R&D, territorial cooperation, technical assistance, and twinning initiatives.

CSI takes a holistic approach to cybersecurity, combining proactive measures—such as IT infrastructure assessments and security effectiveness evaluations—with rapid responses to incidents and cyberattacks.

As part of the Trusted Introducer Service, established by the European CERT community, CSI fosters cooperation among security and incident response teams. The CSI CSIRT manages threats and incidents, providing strategic coordination at regional, national, and European levels. Working closely with the National CSIRT (CSIRT-Italy), CSI CSIRT Piemonte counters a high volume of daily cyber threats, reinforcing the resilience of Italy’s public digital infrastructure.

    Activities in Safe4Soc

As part of the SAFE4SOC project, CSI acts as a pilot, actively contributing to the validation and initial implementation of the project’s technical solution. Its main focus is to facilitate the exchange of data and information related to cybersecurity attacks and incidents.

CSI is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with cybersecurity frameworks through a secure data-sharing gateway. CSI standardizes security data by implementing the IDMEFv2 standard and focuses on promoting the SAFE4SOC prototype to maximize its impact and usability.

A key role in the project is collecting and analyzing feedback from users and systems through a user-oriented evaluation and end-to-end demonstrators. By assessing the prototype’s strengths and weaknesses, CSI identifies opportunities for improvement and further development, increasing the chances of standard adoption and real-world implementation in SOCs.
