Turning Standards into Practice: SAFE4SOC WP4 Tooling Efforts
WP4 meetings in spring 2025 focused on a recurring challenge: standards only create impact when they are supported by usable tools. SAFE4SOC addressed this by developing validators, add-ons, and gateways that operationalise IDMEFv2.
Rather than aiming for exhaustive coverage, WP4 prioritised components that support validation and reuse. Validators help developers check conformity, while SIEM add-ons and gateways demonstrate how structured alerts can be integrated into existing environments.
These efforts reduce entry barriers for future adopters and reinforce the project’s “standardisation-through-code” philosophy.
